None of that just happened because of “market efficiencies” - the 40 hour week, weekends off for people who aren’t engaged in service work type jobs, which is a surprisingly large percentage of the population, actually, vacations, which not everyone gets, especially those service workers, benefits, which not everyone gets, over time, OSHA, etc… these all came about because human beings put their bodies on the line and demanded them. They were sometimes killed for doing so. The humanity was demanded BY the worker, it was not given by corporations.
Right. That’s why I objected to using “efficiency” as a stand-in for “good”.
Okay I guess… My point is that these things need to be made to happen, instead of they’ll happen because of humanity?
