The question is, who gave the virus to whom?

So…they were transmoggified into the Werecats of Wuhan

I saw a werecat with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walking through the streets of Wuhan in the rain
He was looking for the place called Lee Ho Fooks
For to get a big dish of pangolin

Please don’t spread this study. It’s not been peer reviewed and it wasn’t conducted under any real-world observation. Amplifying this will just add to the existing FUD.

Vet friends of mine say there it’s no uptick in sick cats with unexplained respiratory disease and question the validity of this study’s findings.

These have been closed in L.A. County since the stay at home mandate. I think because where dogs congregate, so do humans.

Well, don’t let the tiger within 6 ft of you, and you should be good eh?

But yeah, that’s frightening. I’d assume that all felines have the appropriate ACE2 receptors. Airborne transmission? Human to surface to tiger (fomite) transmission? Zookeepers aren’t doing the “tiger king” thing and snuggling with the tigers.

I wonder how close does a zookeeper have to be to feed a tiger or give it medications.

There probably is a minimum distance to observe if you intend to feed the tiger more than once.

I’ve worked in zoos, and there are a lot of “behind the scenes” isolation areas and stalls where you can remotely make the cage smaller to allow minimal movement so you can safely give pre-anesthetics etc…

Usually though, you’re depending on some degree of training to get the animals to move out of the display area into a feeding area (where food has already been placed). Meds are usually given via food if at all possible. Otherwise meds are a bit of a pain in the ass (sometimes literally with a pole syringe)…
