I only picked it being reminded of the “humans as animals” theme from ChuckV’s post right before it.
That’s definitely giving me those Preacher “where the fuck is your chin” vibes.
Old joke, completely obligs:
What is the difference between capitalism and communism?
Well, in capitalism, man exploits man.
But in communism, the situation is reversed!
(I’ll show myself out…)
I had a class with the now retired historian of the Soviet Union once… he told us that when he was in Moscow in the 70s doing research, a friend of his told him that joke on the bus - but he said “dog eat dog” instead of man…
They only had the one? That explains a lot.
Yeah, it’s only Hugh Hudson! Every Soviet history is really only Hugh Hudson in disguise… See!
Just a warning.
Lots of brocialists and manarchists use the class war to defend their racism/sexism/homophobia/transphobia. They are also very quick to forget that there are working class women and queer folk. None of us asked for this fucking culture war, yet we are attacked for defending ourselves.
Yep, the meaning or implications of that meme can depend on who’s interpreting it.
I like that meme, but it’s also all too easy when pointing out yet another divide and conquer strategy to stop there, and to fail to see (or just not care about) the damage done to its victims.*
(*Not that I’d ever think @anon67050589 would stop there.)
Paris:
We had this?
See ya, I’m off to the Star Trek thread!
ETA - it’s already in the thread! Sorry @anon61221983
