OK, so I disappeared to watch an episode (3-2-1 - ‘Nursery Rhymes’ (1981)) and it was more than mildly surreal (sketch comedy, a broadway-style singing bit, and ventriloquism were involved along with contestants playing a brick popper game against one another). The act of forcing people to give up prizes repeatedly and then displaying what they’d turned down was just cruel!
Anyway, my life is just that much more full for having experienced that oddity. Thanks!
It gets crueler. The final questions were often accused of being deliberately cryptic and ambiguous so that the producers could manipulate the winning prizes. Anyway, glad I could en-weirden your day.
