Counterfeit laptop chargers are bad for your box

Well, when you do this as your day job you want to be paid accordingly. But these scumbags aren’t concerned with safety, good design, or anything along those lines. Even if getting a proper engineer cost only one cent more per unit, they would opt not to just because they are trying to entice people by the lowest price, and shaving every cent is the key for them.

It really shows that building a power supply is easy, building one that’s safe and won’t burn your house down or kill you is hard. It’s amazing how much tech and safety they cram in these.

I’ve had two different kinds of genuine mac power supplies that have had parts melt… One out of warranty, one in.
