From the mind of Natalie Dressed!
Half Cocked is a great fictional film that took place within, starred, and was made by members of the mid-nineties Louisville scene.
So neat to see this. I played and sang in punk groups throughout the 90s, got to open for Slint in Eugene at a well-loved anarchist tea house there.
Half Cocked was 1995? That’s the only one I can find; that’s the same film?
Unrelated, but lol that was my adoptive father’s favorite way to criticize me as a teenager. He would say I was ‘running around half-cocked’.
Shame on you, not acting like an adult when you were a kid!
Definitely going to check this out. I remember hearing it was being filmed but it fell off my radar after that.
There’s also a cool book of band flyers from that period that I’d love to own:
I remember the first LP coming out, and a friend of mine from Louisville going apeshit with excitement. “You gotta check these guys out, ex-members of Squirrel Bait!” I listened to the LP and wasn’t so impressed.
Then a couple years later “Spiderland” came out. Holy shit. Amazing record.
yeah, I think that trailer was made in 2018, but the movie was 1995.
