The thing to watch here is if the decision is made to breakup Google, then a pretty easy argument can be made to breakup similar huge companies. Apple for one would be likely, though Amazon also comes to mind.

Say it happens. What’s the best-case scenario for gmaps, gmail, gphotos, etc? They become subscription services?
N.B. my question is earnest - I want to know! It’s not a “you should be against this breakup and here’s why” rhetorical question.
