Thank you so much for this! My wife and I listened to Ruby back in the early 80s, and still talk about it to this day.
I was introduced to Ruby 3 when I was about 14 when I stumbled upon it on the radio and was immediately entranced. I immediately knew I needed to hear more so I did my best to make sure I was listening to the radio at the same time each week. What an adventure. It seems a little funny now to have to race anywhere to sit down in front of a radio to catch a 5 minute episode when so much now is on demand. So I am thrilled to see this out there.
For what itâs worth too, several of the Ruby series are on Grooveshark. Sadly, life is fast enough now where being able to sit down and listen to much at a time is difficult. Perhaps I should just listen to an episode each week, like was originally intended.
Thanks for giving ZBS some airtime! âRubyâ is a great series and deserves the attention.
Jack was so happy he clapped his hands and shouted for joy, âJoy? Joy?â
I met a person who ran the boards for the university radio station. She hated this show because she had to stay constantly alert to manage the sound levels.
The âMindwebsâ quote threw me offâŚ
âMindwebsâ was a radio drama sci-fi anthology series on the CBC in the 70s and 80s.
Lots of episodes vailable here: https://archive.org/details/Mindwebs_230
Thatâs a bit much to be a coincidence⌠could that perhaps have been a nod to the show?
I wonder if there are any good podcasts out there featuring great forgotten radio shows. There must be a treasure trove of interesting stuff archived somewhere.
This place has everything⌠well a lot anyway.
