And to avoid any confusion, it is and should be legal for someone to stand up and give a speech praising Hitler or Bin Laden or Bob Dobbs or whoever. I don’t want Trump to have the power to outlaw speech from Antifa, which means that we can’t have the power to outlaw speech from Nazis.

I believe it to be based on the idea of “if we restrict the speech of Nazis while we’re in power, they’ll restrict our speech when they’re in power”.

Guess what? Empowered Nazis are going to restrict your speech no matter what you do. If you want to avoid that, you have to avoid giving power to Nazis.

A statement of support for Nazism is a declaration of intent to commit genocide. A statement of support for antifa is not.
