Criminally negligent corporation? Can’t wait to see who gets jailed over this. Just a second… I’m learning that all penalties will be financial, and most likely the only effects will be a slight loss in shareholder value; any terminations of high-level positions will be accompanied with golden parachutes. Ah, well, nevertheless…

This is one of the consequences of MBA myopia: low-ball payoffs can be done within one fiscal quarter but the financial costs of criminal charges and civil judgements will hit the sacred shareholder value much harder in the medium and long term.
