my guess is they wont; its too scary to imagine and would question the mantra of economic growth.
So far.
Purdue University is a well respected STEM school, with an emphasis on engineeering.
What I’ve been seeing is that part of the rift between old-school conservatives and current Republicans is that the educated awareness of history, business, climate, etc. means there are those who want to stimulate economic growth and scientific research (usually for selfish reasons, but not solely) and that flies in the face of the fascists.
Thus, you get these weird stand-offs between the sects.
doesnt mean they couldnt chasing unrealistic technological dreams like so many others (the concept of inductive charging for moving cars is explored for quite some time now);
The first working prototype of an electric vehicle that charges wirelessly while driving, which is known as “dynamic wireless charging” or “dynamic wireless power transfer”, is generally regarded to have been developed at the University of California, Berkeley in the 1980s and 1990s. The first commercialized dynamic wireless charging system, Online Electric Vehicle (OLEV), was developed as early as 2009 by researchers at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. Vehicles using the system draw power from a power source underneath the road surface, which is an array of inductive rails or coils. Commercialization efforts of the technology have not been successful because of high costs, and its main technical challenge is low efficiency
in my humble opinion, its unnecessary, misleading bs.
This is encouraging
Although the newly painted scenario is far worse than anything that came before, the authors acknowledge it is still conservative and incomplete. There are many major climate impacts that have not yet been incorporated into the analysis, including heatwaves, sea level rise, tropical cyclones, tipping points, and damage to natural ecosystems and human health. The authors said these factors would be added to future models.
Disaster capitalism.
Ten years ago: “Hm. Climate change is real. We’d better do something about it make some key investments to make huge profits down the road.”
But at least the lawns of Queen Creek, AZ will remain green.

Crypto conferences disrupted after unprecedented Dubai flood
There’s something nice about seeing Web3 fanatics in ankle-deep water
footage of the flood, dubai airport and then some;
Is the UAE planning to have a lot to say at COP 29, too? Asking for a friend who believes you reap what you sow…
And now they’re getting their invisible hand-job.
Free hand-jobs of the market! The Market provides!!!
