Futurististic computer screens are mostly blue

Not true. There’s also Mark Coleran, Jayse Hansen and BLIND. So… Five designers?

Joking aside, there’s a blog for that for us design nerds.

And the Mona Lisa is a painting of some chick standing in front of a river…

I love how 2 out of 4 in the 70s are brown and orange. Not content to ruin our clothes and living spaces, they had to invade our science fiction screens as well.

Probably the most “90s” color scheme ever.

Pssshh. 'Shopping an ipad into that still was a cheap trick. At least it was one of the older ones.

From a review of Alien 3

Um . . . pastels?

I’m a little sensitive about any understatement of Alien, I just watched it again on Bluray the other night, and it is such a masterpiece, it never diminishes with the years, it never seems dated, it still seems fresh. The pacing is perfect.

ETA Never thought much of Alien 3 though!

Alien was the only one that took place “IN SPACE!” Aliens and Alien³ took place almost entirely on planets.

It still looks cool and has nice colorschemes, it’s just hard to make those interface elements work well for…well, even the simplest of apps. There was one that did pretty good though:

(the old PC game Rules of Engagement, in which “You are a fleet commander for the Federated Worlds Armed Forces (FWAF), and you are at war with the United Democratic Planets (UDP)”)
