I’m guessing you figured this out by holding your computer monitor over a heat lamp to expose the secret writing in lemon juice?

It’s also a very common pattern in abuse. Abusers can be very devoted and apparently repentant after an abusive act, i.e. the man who buys flowers and takes his wife out for an expensive dinner the day after he throws the dishes at her for “wasting money”.
It’s one of the reasons it’s hard for an abused person to recognise that, no, this is not a good person you are in a relationship with.
