Re-looked at the data, and you’re right we have had an increase in the last 8 or so years.

I think it is still relatively peaceful compared to most of history - even ignoring the World Wars. Though much of it is civil or civil with state intervention conflicts now instead of the state vs state wars.

Of course that doesn’t mean its all peachy. Political protests worldwide have been met with violence. Though that, IMO, I wouldn’t really consider that war. Though I guess it could devolve into it like in Syria.
