I love everything by Fess. I wasn’t that into him when I was in college down in New Orleans, but later I downloaded a couple of his albums and I find that they are the sort of masterpieces where I can listen to them over and over again and never tire of them.
I heard that he made up Tipitina basically on the fly when they recorded it. Wish I had that kind of genius.
