Goldman Sachs will pay $5B for fraudulent sales of toxic debt, no one will go to jail

But the incentive to work there would be drastically reduced. Kind of like the reluctance you see in American corporate executives to work abroad in Mexico, Lebanon or Colombia.

Remember to keep the horns as blunt as possible. So instead of them piercing the organs for quick death, they simply displace them with gravity crushing them under the weight of the victim*

*I learned this from Anno Dracula, by Kim Newman. Its an alternate history series where Count Dracula becomes the consort to Queen Victoria. Its as gonzo as it sounds.

It is a question of the bankers, their number one rule is CYA. Letā€™s face it, most businesses fail, something like 80%, and small businesses are risky. So it is understandable, they are not doing it out of the goodness of their hearts. The bigger they are they may have assets, property etc.

Recently I was reading a book on people trying to continue the shepherd life style in the English Lake District, and what struck me was how hard they work on maintaining their trust and fair dealing. If one farmer may get a better than usual price when selling his stock to another, he will likely make up for at another time so as not to appear greedy. Everyone in the community is well aware of whatever obligations or favours they owe to each other. For instance the author was treated with respect because of his fatherā€™s reputation. And yet once that personal contact is out of it, especially when dealing with large corporations there is no problem in ripping off people. Or taking the resources and leaving a polluted landscape for someone else to deal with.

Wall street of course takes it to the logical conclusion, everyone assumes they are out to screw each other.
