Thanks for letting us know - I was not aware of this inconvenient fact. To be fair, the Wikipedia article on Ecosia does say that their results are based on Bing’s but enhanced with their own algorithms. But yeah, knowing that Bing is the basis of their results definitely reduces the perceived utility of their service.

Is it me, or as of a couple of hours ago they removed the favicons from search results?
