Why isn’t there a Boing Boing library we can borrow from, then?
You left Steanpunk off your list
I will review free books. I’ll even try and make a decent fist of it, if you pay me.
This article came at the right time for me. A former client ripped into me yesterday while I was quietly having coffee. The conversation was amical to begin with, as usual, but after a few minutes he began to attack personal decisions I have recently made and my business, which left me pretty rattled though I didn’t respond.
The advice the writer gave was simple and succinct and I took a few minutes to digest what he said, and felt 100% better because of it.
I am a Psychotherapist and as such do not make a habit of socialising with clients. The man I referred to earlier lives not far from me and we frequent the same Coffee Shop and the man left my practice over a year ago to recieve medical treatment (which I don’t do), so no ethical violations there
I thought the advice was sound too. And yet the severity of incidents described suggested symptoms of possible complex mental health trauma - esp. the part about imminent death. Social isolation, dissociation, suicidal ideation possibly …
It falls well within the spectrum of PTSD, post traumatic stress disorder.
That’s just a bunch of pot-boilers, nu?

I’m always impressed when someone can blog and write books based on the simple claim to fame of “Hi! If you ever met me in person you would chew your own arm off to escape! That’s why you need to take my advice!”
I have often wished to embark upon this career, as it seems oddly lucrative. Unfortunately, I’ve never gotten beyond “Hi! If you ever met me in person you would endure really wet socks and shoes for a modest amount of time (not long enough to cause blisters) to escape!” levels.
