Pretty sure this method only works for hands that are convex. Also there may be a practical limit on the number of dimensions.
something similar to this was all the rage in my daughter’s school a year or so ago… we have tons of 3d hand drawings laying about…

I just drew my concave hand using a very similar method. The effect is quite striking.
As to additional dimensions, this method will not work for hands of five or more dimensions. The demonstration of that is left to the student as an exercise.
Then get a charcoal pencil and add a wee bit of shading.
