A puffling is a young puffin, and puffling season is when these youngsters get help from humans…
So young humans are called “humelings”?
Complain about their population decline all you want, but Icelanders are hunting hundreds of them a day. They are on the menu of every restaurant in Iceland. Maybe don’t do that?
Meanwhile, I prefer these:
“Humans help baby puffins fly out to sea!”
I swear, at first glance I thought this said “Humans help baby puffins fly out to seal”.
(Which, in all likelihood, is how things worked out… )
Couldn’t they reduce the amount of light pollution for a few weeks?
