I made one in high school that we still use as a garland around the little tabletop Christmas tree.
What does one do with a gum wrapper chain that long, except keep working on it fanatically?
Hmm no one I know did this sort of thing in school. Though being a fan of origami, I would have found it neat.
I am fascinated by people with passionate interests in collecting, though.
I definitely remember doing this as a kid, especially at summer camp.
I was never very ambitious though. I’m sure I never made anything longer than a foot before I got distracted with something else.
Space elevator!!
I must’ve missed it in the video - where does he get the gum wrappers? He’s not eating that much gum per day, is he‽
Inspired by Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, I kept a tin-foil ball for a while, it got to about the size of a good-sized caggabe. I hadn’t been very diligent about cleaning the foil I added to it though, and it eventually stank and got tossed.
