So, what happens when it rains?

It really just looks like bad CGI at first.

And we have barely gotten any rain yet.

Awww; they edited the clip to remove the “commentary” (non-stop swearing).

I was given a light cube and some old LED panels. White background was fucked. Not very good with it yet.

Is the smoking along the edges just dust? Or are these smoking embers from the fire?

Pretty sure it’s dust…

Chicory (Cichorium intybus), a common roadside wildflower (in the central US and great plains, anyway) with a history dating back to the ancient Egyptians.

Among other things, that looks like a slug or worm carving a path through soil. Yes, CNN does make mistakes, I think

Hand axe did not hold edge and splattered on first use. One star. Would not buy again.

Holy crap, this was our ancestor?

Didn’t pick this box up. It was full of empty soy milk cartons.

It’s an endless source of potential amusement, but Google feed grabs images from stories somewhat at random, so the headline can often be topped with some advertising image or one taken from a link to a different story.

This made it double funny to me, because for whatever reason, when this image/story came out (over a year ago?) the headline was always about “human ancestor” or “our ancestor”, which is true, but also true for, like, tapeworms. It really struck me as a weird choice at the time.

Addendum:

The good takeaway lesson of this creature is that human evolution has been a long, laborious process of adding extraneous attachments to a colon.

TIL that what I’ve called bachelor’s buttons all my life is chickory, not cornflower!

a very large blossom (some kind of thistle?) up at the property today

And on the drive back to the city, it looked like the dev team assigned to the Bronx cut some corners on collision testing…
