The reaction of my first car (a beater) trying to reach that speed, after the steering wheel started shaking at 70 MPH:
Had one on my front porch years ago, right next to the door, on top of a decoration. Once the babies were able to fly, they went elsewhere, and a ceramic bird replaced the real one.
Speaking of Turdidae – Eastern(?) bluebird! This is at my parents’ house in TX… I don’t imagine I’d see one at my home in MD, too many trees around it (though I have seen them where I work, which has the nice open spaces they prefer).
This is in No. Richland Hills, TX. Having grown up nearby I never thought there was much “there,” there. But they have these cool utility boxes going for them. Not pictured (this time): Willie, Prince, Elvis.
Found these at one of the Czech stores along the way to AUS. (A nice contrast to the horribly transphobic billboard along the same route)
Ah, nice. Yes, Central Texas is where my family settled in the late 1800s, making little Czech communities all around there. Even naming one town Praha (Prague).
