I mostly meant Iām surprised the winning ticket holder doesnāt get offed by the first person they tell before the collect their prize, so the murderer can steal the ticket. It seems like people kill for a lot less.
The first person a lottery winner tells prior to collecting is a close confidante and thus an immediate suspect. āHm, Joe Blow just won the lottery and his buddy Sam Shmoe was murdered at the same timeā¦ā Far better for Blow to further ingratiate himself with Shmoe and reap the ongoing benefits of being a very wealthy personās best friend.

You just claim that you were confiding in them that you had won. They tried to steal your ticket. You had no choice but to defend yourself. Such a tragedy!
