WIthout any expert knowledge, I would assume the ladybug is not following the line but the tip of the pen which probably resembles some smaller bug it is used to eating.

So, basically paving a road with ink for the little bug to follow. I imagine a layer of ink looks a bit larger to them with moisture and a bonus scent to follow.

Wonder if anyone has tried a Ladybug rally?

I believe it might work with ants as well, but not positive.

Ladybugs will follow a random line

Will they not follow a nonrandom line?

How do they know the difference?

There’d better be an aphid at the end of that line you cruel monster.

I’ll bet its the scent of fresh ink, rather than the visible line that the ladybug is following.

Goddammit I had to build an entire robot to do that.

To be fair, this would almost certainly work on me, too.

then it most certainly will work on the president as well .

The GOP and right wing followers in miniature.

Just like getting those mimeographed pages in class and all the school work would take a pause while we all buried our noses in the paper and got high on the carbon tetrachloride.

Miraculous.

Yes it does. We had an entomologist show how you could get ants to follow a pen line at a storytime one day. They seem to like the smell of the ink.
