Crazy that a famous person lived that long into the 20th century with so few audio recordings. Or maybe not crazy. Her life was mostly in the pre-magnetic tape era. People could make home recording onto disc and cylinder but it wasn’t as common or easy.
We were lucky to find a reel to reel tape of My grandfather who died in the 60s and get it digitized. My grandmother had kept it in a box for years and my mom hadn’t heard her dad’s voice for almost 50 years.
