Agreed. I’m a total Luddite, or at least as much as I can be now. I am always telling family that they need to avoid any/all smart devices if at all possible, because of security/privacy issues. They think I’m paranoid.
Thankfully I live out in rural areas and can’t even get a landline or wired internet there, only satellite internet. And I have minimal “smart devices” (just TVs) that have the invasive stuff totally disabled. So it’s pretty easy to tell Big Brother to go F himself, just by unplugging the sorry excuse for a router.
The “funny” thing is that I drive an hour into town to go to work…at a big data company…but I’m just being paranoid, dontcha know?
