I am weird. I just wish I could afford some sort of stone tomb… maybe I can make my own in retirement. Just no one freaking Monkey Paw me back to life. Or at least remember to restore me first.
But fair play. For those that don’t care, a more natural burial may be the way to go. I do definately think it should be an option for people. One of the reasons for the embalming is because we start to stink real fast and many of the last funerals I have gone to were days, one a whole week since the death of the person. There are various reasons, from unplanned logistics (friend who died in a ditch full of water going after a dog. He had health problems, but waaaayyy too young and didn’t have anything planned.), to family members holding off so loved ones could come from accross the US. So some of this is I guess conveniance for the living?
I do have a friend who is a non-practicing Muslim, who had his sister die and she was buried I think the next day or the day after that. So non-embalming does happen.
