Heh. So did Channel 4 here, poaching the production from the BBC - then they realised that they weren’t be going to get 3/4 of the presenters - who were the main part of the style of the show (the producers wanted something much more aggressive and competitive) even going to deliberately sabotaging shots of contestants in floods of tears, (by covering them with coats and/or swearing lots) so they couldn’t be used.
(Somewhere, this means there’s lots of footage of Mel and Kim swearing like troopers.)
But it’s serious dogs doing serious things seriously. It’s not what I’d call riveting, but serious dog business!
Also that theme tune!
You left out another, important element of the show imo. The show acts as a bridge between the “collecting for profit” audience and the “art and aesthetics” market. They really do offer a some wonderful art appreciation lessons for viewers. Although the valuation is the hook, the appraisers are true experts who love and appreciate the antiques as objects of beautiful craft and art and share that passion again and again.
Your e-mail comes back as being from ‘Suzanne’ instead of ChickieD. Is
it supposed to do that? No harm done, as it hasn’t revealed your outside
world e-mail or anything. But I thought you ought to know.
Yes. She was a good Mum. Five stars. Would recommend to others. And I am
hoping to get a high-resolution X-ray tomography scan of the box so we
can 3D print copies, and post the design.
Thanks. Hmm…not sure if I should fix my email or not. I’ll ponder. I feel at this point my anonymity here is kind of a facade. I struggle with that aspect of this board. Sure we have our safe spaces like the Lounge, but then we also are public…when those Gamergate assholes come around I think maybe I should lock myself down more. But to the regulars I prefer to be more “me.” Since every third woman my age is named “Susan” “Sue” or “Suzanne” I doubt I’m giving up too much 411 but ???
3D awesome box sounds like a lovely project. Kudos to your Mum for being a keeper of the treasure.
