Doped oxide coated microlattices could be interesting as supported catalysts with engineered porosity. Eat your heart out, zeolites.

So what happened to aerogel? I remember it looking really cool and futurey and promising in publicity pictures, but have no idea what it’s been used for apart from a vague suggestion of “NASA!”. Did it end up creating a revolution in some everyday area of life I’m not aware of?
