Seriously, I read the headline and looked at the image and thought A monkey and a pen nib? Huh? Oh, it must be a poster for a writer’s workshop or something—and I wondered if they were trying to suggest Give 100 monkeys some pens and ink…
I suppose that further goes to prove that the image isn’t communicating what the designer hoped, if my brain was trying that hard to figure it out. Let’s hope for the designer’s sake that there really is no such thing as bad press!

After staring at this a long time I realized it must be a close up of a monkey’s nose/ muzzle, given the color pattern.
If it were next to a similar design of a cat nose with whiskers and a duck beak it might work as a group but not at all by itself.
