Most world maps wipe out much of Oceania

So we’re supposed to change all our maps, based on a single issue? And who is still using wall maps to make decisions in 2016?

Who’s talking about all the maps? Neither the post nor the article it references are saying such an absurd thing. Maps, like any other graphic, should be appropriately designed for their intended purpose. If you’re talking about sea level changes, losing the nations that are most affected by sea level change from your news-site article about sea level or whatever is plain just bad design.

It’s not like Atlantic-centered Mercator was good enough for your great-to-the-nth grandfather, so should be used for all purposes; you use differently projected maps all the time, unless you’re one of those folk who can’t use maps. Even your high school atlas used different projections for most of the maps except that first Mercator at the front of the book.

And again I ask, who is still using wall maps to make decisions in 2016?
