What could possibly go wrong?
"and costs $120. If that seems extraordinarily expensive for a USB cable, it’s because this one "
… is from the Boing Boing Store ?
Even making the case clear wouldn’t help because there’s always some sort of propriety-related chip in these cables so you never know what you’re getting.
Anyways, here’s something nice to hang on your wall.
Well played, good sir.
This is why I wrap my cables in tinfoil
Looking at their page, this really is designed less for keylogging and more for key stroke injection.
How many keyboards have a removable cable? At the same time though you could use this to inject key commands to a computer, tablet, or phone. It’s certainly harder to detect a hack when it’s coming from inside your network.
Get out! The hack is coming from inside the house!
Putin should have given Trump something more personal, like a covfefe mug, or a fake framed “Time” magazine showing Trump as leader of the year… something for sure he would keep on his desk… Play to his vanity.
Not relevant. When this cable is connected to a computer and the payload is triggered remotely, the computer will interpret the payload as input from a keyboard. Regardless whether an actual keyboard is plugged in or not. As long as the OS accepts input from a keyboard via USB this will work.
Need more end-to-end encryption.
Seems relevant enough considering the keylogger version was built specifically for keyboards with detachable cables.
