I both love and hate this at the same time.

It ticks so many boxes for me.

Would a graphite-moderated reactor even emit Cherenkov radiation?

Yes. Cherenkov radiation, in the form of a columnar blue glow multiple kilometers high, was observed by multiple witnesses shortly after the explosion. While there is some debate as to whether the column itself was Cherenkov radiation from the particles exceeding the local speed of light, or light from Cherenkov radiation being projected out of the exposed and burning core and reflecting off the smoke, or some combination of the two, there appears to be consensus that it was Cherenkov radiation causing the blue glow.

Well, I never. The RBMK design is more versatile than one would think.

Criminals steal a car in São Paulo, Brazil, full of radioactive materials. According to local authorities, the elements Germanium and Gallium aren´t dangerous to the population. They said that “a 68Ge/68Ga generator and 4 units of 99Mo/99mTc generator shields” missing aren´t dagnerous if they are kept inside the lead contaimers.

Ah, yes. So long as all relevant safety precautions are followed, everything is perfectly safe.

Fine, nothing to worry about then. Carry on.
