You know, I spent the better part of 1986 guarding tactical nukes and being trained for WW III. Through most of the years since then the probability that I’d see nuclear weapons being used (not necessarily in Europe, just somewhere in the world) seemed to drop lower and lower. But looking at global politics during the last couple of years… oh dear.

I think some small country will use them, get stomped hard by a joint us/Russian/Chinese/everyone else massive retaliatory strike, we’ll be rereminded of their devastation and then not see them used until most of those who are alive now are dead similar to how after our wwii vets are mostly dying off we see a rise in fascism
That, or a presidiot ordering a “preemptive strike” against a “rogue nation” in a bid to ensure a second term.
