I found myself in a stressful situation this summer (LONG story) and as a result, had to drive overnight to NYC and specifically to LaGuardia to pick up bags that had gone on a flight without us (not our fault).
I was so stressed, I let my 17-year-old drive us into the city, and through, and then to the godawful mess that is multi-year renovation/construction at LaGuardia. Why? Because she has this same calmness. She doesn’t get rattled. I’ve lived in NYC, and driven there, but I knew I was too stressed at this particular time to do it safely in the moment.
Some people just have it. Those are the ones you want flying the planes.
