Maybe she died after an ad hominid attack

If you spend most of your time in the trees, you will probably die just before or after falling out of a tree.

Too soon, dude. It’s only been 3.2 million years.

It is.

Not an archaeologist or paleontologist, but I suspect shelter during that time was probably ephemeral and made of the kind of stuff (like sticks and mud) that would leave few if any identifiable traces (unlike bone, rock shards from tool making, middens or even fire pits). Even on a scale of a few hundred or a few thousand years it seems unlikely you’d find many preserved remnants of that kind of housing. Millions? I’d bet against it.
