Don’t let a ring control your life! I was just watching season 2 of LOTR: The Rings of Power and (spoiler) the best ring is no ring at all.
Also, even well-meaning, nobel elves such as yourself are not immune to being corrupted by them.
Earlier in a the year, or maybe last year, i recall watching someone review the Oura. They wore it along with several smart watches that have the same health tracking functionalities. All of them had readings that had some deviation/error but were close enough to each other that functionally they were accurate enough. But the Oura was consistently way off that it couldn’t be considered as it giving good metrics.
I don’t know if they’ve improved it from then but i would look at these health tracking rings with a lot of suspicion.
I originally thought that was for “downstairs”.
I like the self-charging ones. They aren’t as powerful over all, but that feature is great when your central power source goes out for some reason.
Oh now that would be an interesting variant. I’d check some of the DIY sites for such things, but I’m at work right now. (I may have to suggest this to some clever builder friends, though.)
wake me when ‘smart’ rings can project images on… well nothing at all.
(“if you’d dust this place more often, then it might be ‘nothing’”)
I had to look that up and they exist…

It is most precious (if i was ever dumb enough to spend that kind of money on an Oura)
And when the battery acts up it’ll be a ring of fire that burns, burns, burns.
I have had an Oura for almost two years. I wanted to track sleep and activity without having to wear something on my wrist or charge it frequently.
When I got it I did some brief comparisons against pedometer, blood oxygen sensor, manual computation of pulse, consumer blood pressure cuff, etc and it seemed fine.
