Passing the D20: The BBS is Leveling Up with New Moderators

On a more serious note: there is at least one position argued on the BBS I am already not flagging, despite my staunch opinion that they do, in fact, violate community guidelines. I don’t flag because more than one esteemed member of the BBS argues it. And now, it is a possibility that one of the said members is a moderator, which further discourages me to flag.

This would probably be a better fit for the Griping about moderation topic. I’m willing to listen to your thoughts on whatever the issue is.

So yes, it DOES affect decisions to flag if you know that some regulars who are vocal about $things might be called upon when $things are flagged.

We were chosen for this responsibility because our Flags were often agreed with-- in other words, we already appeared to understand the principles of moderation on the BBS, as estabished by our amazing Orenwolf. I’m also aware that we’re going to have to prove that we can live up to those principles. I can only promise that I take this new role very seriously, and I’m going to do the best I can to be fair and as objective as possible in this new role.
