Yeah, that’s a great point. I think sometimes it does. Although Erdős really liked the short type of proof that tends to depend a lot on the unique nature of a given problem. I can remember some times when I learned the standard proof of a theorem and then the prof was like, “ok, now I’m going to show you Erdos’s proof,” and it’s something totally out of left field, enough to make your brain hurt, but way shorter!
