I appreciate the use of quotes in the title; I wonder what the overlap looks like in the Venn diagram consisting of hermitage, homelessness, mental illness, and rugged survivalists?
Sensitive souls, unwilling to inflict the many small harms required for daily survival. Unwilling to exclude, they find themselves excluded.
