So mad! :joy_cat:

I think we need an intervention. My wife was getting out the Easter cat toys. Notice the bag labeled Valentines, there’s a bag for every holiday. And now one of the cats is running through the house killing a toy that makes chirping sounds the more it shakes.

Woke up to a surprise Sunday morning… Found a note from the wife “put cat in hallway bathroom - injured leg” (she had left early to meet a friend for breakfast)
This is Broken Bob (aka BB-eats) – he’s been hanging around the neighborhood for at least 5-6 months now. He’s been on my catch-n-neuter radar for a while.
I originally called him Bob Cat because I thought he was a Japanese bob-tail and changed to Broken Bob when I realized that there just must must have been an injury to the tail.
Took him to the vet yesterday. Looks like the injury is probably just a bite on the paw, so should clear up with antibiotics. Our other neuter candidate, Evil Bootsie, beat Bob up in front of the wife the other day, so I’m sure that’s where he got injured.
He already seems a bit better this morning. He was a good boy taking his meds (at least no worse than our boys)
Poor boy; the paw was puffed up like a balloon.
He seems like he’ll be a really sweet boy once he’s more comfortable. Too bad that we don’t have room in the house for him… We’ll have to find a home or turn him into a back yard kitty.
I actually got a glimpse of him as a normal cat… He had his tail up like a happy cat and was enjoying getting petted. Now he’s back to being a bit grumpy.

I needed a mental break yesterday so I took advantage of the break in the rain to take in some rays with some puppies in the poppies.

Of course by “puppies” I mean “frankly kind of terrifying alpha-predators who need space to chase and wrestle each other lest their pent up energy drive me nuts while I’m trying to work at home” but they’re still my puppies.

Kind of nuts that I’ve been taking them to this big scenic area of public land for months and we haven’t encountered a single other person there yet despite it being a pretty short walk from our home.

He’s a handsome boy! I do hope he heals up soon. Maybe Evil Bootsie will chill a bit after a catch-fix-release? Might be hard for Broken Bob to stick around with the other cat constantly challenging him.

(Also, nice to hear from you, it’s been a while!)

Hey!
Ya, I’m pretty sure that Evil Bootsie is ready to nab – he’s been getting much more friendly lately. He also seemed a bit more chill around the other street kitties, but I guess Bob isn’t on his “Ok” list. We were just discussing the timing… Figure that we’ll keep B. Bob out in the enclosure I have until we get Bootsie snipped and then put Bootsie in there and let B. Bob out.

We took a 3 mile walk along our marsh. The swans are getting ready to lay eggs if they haven’t already. Looks like it’s going to be a bumper crop.

Love is in the air.

Is that a beaver in the 3rd photo?

Muskrat.

Beavers are about 10x the size of muskrats, and when they swim, only the head sticks out, whereas with muskrats you see the length of their back.

Whenever my wife gets annoyed when I tell her about some of the cool concerts I’ve seen over the years, I remind her that my parents took me to see Captain & Tennielle.

Oh, sorry, yeah, it is my local pub.
It’s Bailey’s home-from-home.
He gets the best seat in the place, treats and scritches from all the staff.
More people there know his name than know mine!
