I know the venomous ones are around, but I have yet to see one in my yard. (The king snake that I’ve seen a couple times might have something to do with that.)
I would have a less jubilant reaction to one of them if/when I see one, but considering that we probably are already coexisting, we would just go our separate ways.
Our daughter and her husband adopted a couple kittens a few months ago, they no longer fit in their cat tree but that doesn’t stop them.
With Mrs. Feral in the house a little mouse has been coming to her outdoor house and visiting almost every night.
It’s really cute.
We left the cameras out there to see if any other critters came around.
And a little enchanted forest popped up while we were gone.
All four beasties worshipping the red dot.
It was a stalemate as to who would move for the dot first. Lots of risk analysis on the part of the kittens especially, because Bitey Cat is also the self-appointed fun police.
The same animal between 1886 and 2024
The turtle “Jonathan” is the oldest living terrestrial animal known in the world, born in 1832 and in 2024 he turned 192 years old.
He lived through the First and Second World Wars, the Russian Revolution, lived through seven British monarchs and 39 presidents of the United States.
This truly is amazing
Is that the St. Helena tortoise? (Looks at the Wiki for that tortoise…) It is! It’s the same guy.
Amazing, right!
Even rattlers are friends. They are just socially distanced friends.
He spends a lot of time attacking the wool cave, carrying his toys inside and then attacking them and the cave, and going inside to chase his tail and attack the cave. I’m glad he likes it, but I did buy it for sleeping.
Aww, cave kitty!
Do you ever play the game with him where you hide a toy under something, like a sheet of newspaper or a blanket, and let him attack as you pull the toy around? IME, cave kitties really enjoy that game. And it’s adorable seeing them get that little “pounce face” while they play.
Haven’t been posting many pics this time, but it’s been fun getting to know our current batch of foster kittens. One is surely going to be a climber, another shows signs of being a cave kitty. No paper kitties yet, but that usually doesn’t show up until they’re a little older.
Praying mantis to hooman: SOON
I can not make this up, our local Facebook page is complaining that the squirrels make to much noise.
We’re loving the herd of squirrels around us running, and playing, and chasing each other around trees.
This one was even imitating Ian Anderson on a flute.
LOL!
omg you almost killed me
