My parents moved into the area (1999) when the place was still running, I’m not sure in what capacity. I’m not sure when the sign on Route 209 was finally torn down, but it was around for a while after the place was no longer a going concern.
A bit farther up the road is another place that I think is finally kaput, the “Nevele.” It was advertised on NYC area TV and . . . yeah, here you go:
Catchy theme song! It was used as a conference center after the resort proper closed; my brother-in-law went there for a teacher’s training meeting.
To judge from the signs on Route 17, there are still places up there that feature major acts and comedians.
