Restaurant wants you to also tip its kitchen staff

I would’ve been one of those who chose no tip. I prefer to tip the server personally in cash.

My wife once made the mistake of taking a cab in Japan, paying the fare and telling the driver to keep the change as a tip as she got out. The guy got out of his car and chased her down to give her the change.

Blackstar Co-op, a cooperative brewpub in Austin, opened with a no-tip, fair living wage policy. They have a stable staff, reasonable prices and are looking at opening a second location. Service is no different than anyplace else, either.
