I had to look up what a sexton even was: “a person who looks after a church and churchyard, sometimes acting as bell-ringer and formerly as a gravedigger.” My father did that to pay for law school!

As far as I know, thats not how “severely depressed” works.

Agreed. Depression prevents me from painting. Trying to get into a productive mode is like trying to swim up a waterfall when you’re not a fish.

That seems to be the case based on people I’ve known who have gone through even mild bouts of actual depression.
