Sony's entertainment business is killing its electronics business

I thought from the start that Sony was making a big mistake buying into the content business. Since then, they’ve brought out their FootGun 3000™ over and over again, thinking that maybe this time they won’t actually blast their foot with it.

Their professional audio gear is still good and uses normal audio formats, but I’m seriously uninterested in any of their recent consumer offerings.


It’s been two decades since I even considered buying a Sony consumer electronics product. Why pay a premium price to get locked down and hobbled in your choices? (Apple took over that market niche, anyhow).
