In the game Speaking Simulator (Steam and Switch) you play a robot disguised as a human that tries to fit in the real world. Your job it to control its mouth to make it talk in a way that passes muster. If you aren’t good at your job, the robot’s head will explode.

I’ve smoked a lot of weed in my day, so I’m an old hand at this.

I wonder if being a linguist would give me an advantage or a disadvantage. Like, I know that a /t/ is an unvoiced alveolar plosive, and a /z/ is a voiced alveolar fricative.

I assume there will soon be massive tournaments for this game, with thousands of dollars at stake, so I will be retiring soon to give myself time to practice.
