Per CNN, consumers are telling the companies they need to “innovate,” which I assume means more apps, more advertisements, more fake promotions, more AI, more bitcoin, and more corporate money blown on Silicon Valley billionaires rather than front line workers and lowering costs. CNN really has its finger on the pulse of the common man.
And by unions and their allies.
I’m pretty sure that is true for every *$$. When I was a regular, there was never brewed decaf. If you wanted a decaf coffee, they could maybe do a pour-over, otherwise your only option was a decaf Americano.
Yeah, my Starbucks recently got a new barista, and I had to explain to him that I didn’t want a decaf Americano.
They bought and killed Teavana. Bought and killed Bay Bread and La Boulange. Bought and sold off Seattle’s Best. Pasqua Coffee as well. Tazo. Coffee Equipment Co. makers of Clover. A water company, a juice company… Coffee Connection, Coffee People, the list goes on. Competition is the American Way… so just gradually buy or kill it.
Coffee People is back, it’s just called “Jim and Patty’s Coffee” now. It’s the original founders of Coffee People.
I really liked Teavana, granted i only went there maybe 2-3 times ever. Once it was to get loose leaf tea as a gift for someone, but i enjoyed their various teas and the quality. The moment they were purchased i knew that was the end, such a shame.
It seems like Starbucks sells overly sugared drinks to obscure the fact that it doesn’t really grasp the basics of good coffee. Towards the end of Teavana’s life, I noticed that it seemed to sell fruity and sugary tea blends, but few traditional products.
And its prices were exorbitant compared to say, Upton’s.
Last time I went in there they “didn’t take cash”
