To be fair on the last point, isn’t it more common to have the same phone number for (presumably) a lifetime now? I mean, I move around the country every few years and before the the cell phone that meant getting a whole new phone number every move. Now it doesn’t matter if my area code doesn’t match my geographic location.

A long time ago i actually had to send telegrams. I can also drive three on a tree and know about carbon paper.
